Gravity pulls. It is a one-way force. The only known form of energy in the universe that seems to have no opposite. It pulls, never pushes.
According to Swedenborg gravity corresponds spiritually to love (AE 159).
And so gravity also corresponds to the law of attraction. There is only attraction, and no assertion.
Everything is already coming toward us.
When a door opens inward you cannot get it to open by pushing.

Hi, nice turnaround on the subject about pushing! In my perception we need a bit of both and I’ve found this in many different traditions.
In the Inca trad, that we’ve talked about, many use the expression, pushing energy, making it move, moving kausay! What this means is to have energy flowing, not forcing it b/c then often we miss things on the way, and actually create hoocha(heavy energy = energy that is stagnant and does not flow)
Why?
Because, we want something specific to happen and miss what is actually occurring. In the tradition we have tools to become qawaq, seers that see reality as it is. What this really entails in the biggest and widest sense, one can only speculate on. But to perceive what is going on means that I perceive how things are working and work with it in the natural manner of reality.
So sometimes we pull and sometimes we let things just be and sometimes we need to pull!
Hadn’t even thought about our pushing discussion… :)
I think that you use the word ‘push’ more in the sense of manipulating or re-arranging. In this post ‘push’ means go against the stream, insist on something that is not supported, not in the flow.
