This week I have been adding crystals and gemstones to selected flutes. I bind or glue the stone in front of the sound hole, so that the air and the sound gently hit it. See the pictures below.
I am going on the understanding that each stone is attuned to some natural and beneficial energy, each stone corresponds to something in spiritual reality.
Now by playing the flute my intention is to allow the sound to pick up and transmit this spiritual frequency. This makes playing the flute a different experience. The tones become longer. It no longer is a matter of finding a melody, but of finding the sweet spots in the sound intensity that resonate with the crystal.
My mind wonders, but how do I know what frequency does what? Well, my mind does not know. My heart does.

I have read you post with great interest. I must first say that I am not in any way minimizing or criticizing this concept. I have no intent to discourage you in any way. I would like to present an alternative possibility to your use of these stones. So kindly hear me out while I try to explain my view, with the utmost respect to you.
Firstly, there are other things which have been shown to be beneficial to those who are ill that have nothing to do with the flute. One well known thing is having a live pet. Pets somehow have therapeuitic effects on some ill people, whether the companionship or the care and attention they pay to the pet, and vice versa. It’s real and it happens. Does the pet have healing powers? No. It’s their interaction with the pet that offers something which goes towards a psychological process of some sort which positively effects the physical.
I most respectfully submit the same might be said for the use of different stones in the manner which you profer. I personally believe that it could be helpful, and somehow phsycholically someone may respond in a manner which results in a physical improvement. I think it’s more the music of the flute that takes their minds off of themselves as they envelope themselves into the sounds of the flute. King Saul in the Bible was often consolled by someone playing the harp for him.
We all know that some people have responded positively to a placebo in double blind tests, when they unknowingly take placebos for an illness instead of the medicine being tested, even when it’s known that the placeba may be nothing more than some inert substance with no medicianl value. Yet, some people response positively to that placebo. Therefore, this phenomenon is documented and works for some people. It is my humble view that this is in the same category. But, if it works for one person, then that’s wonderful But I would submit that it’s likely the physological belief that it WILL be helpful rather than and real. The power of suggestion is very powerful.
Thanks for your careful comment. And sure, belief is almost always an agent in healing. Your faith has made you whole, Jesus kept saying. Maybe a healing flute therefore is a faith-inducing flute. That has a nice ring to it, a faith-inducing flute…
